TWICE leader JIHYO posted a handwritten letter on her social media on October 21, saying her 21-year journey with JYP, which began when she was a child, had come to an end. She joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2005. Her new company is called EMITHAUS. It starts with JIHYO's own activities and plans to expand into finding and signing other artists. JIHYO will work both as a solo artist and with TWICE. In the letter she wrote that her decision "does not mean a farewell to the team" she has been with for so long, and that she wants to keep standing on the same stage as the other members. She also thanked the group's fandom, ONCE.

Why it matters — TWICE debuted in 2015, and all members renewed their contracts in 2022. Earlier, JEONGYEON moved to Baro Entertainment to also pursue acting, and CHAEYOUNG announced activities under her independent project LIL FANTASY.
