About K-Sarangbang
In a traditional Korean house, the sarangbang — a kind of parlor — was the room where guests were welcomed and where news and stories were shared. In Korean, sarang also means love — so Sarangbang is a room for everyone who loves Korea.
It's run by GrooBree, who was born and raised in South Korea and still lives here, and written in English, Japanese, Chinese and Spanish.
What's here
K-Pop — Daily K-Pop news, fan pages for 68 artists — members, schedules, releases and concerts — the week's schedule, chart rankings, and cheers for your favorite members, with an Idol of the Month.
Rooms for Korean food, culture and history will open later, and each one will be added to this page.
How we write the news
- K-Pop news uses only the facts in the original report — Korean news agencies such as Yonhap and Newsis, or an agency's official announcement. We don't add background, opinions or guesses that aren't in the source.
- Every article names its source and date.
- If something is wrong, tell us through Contact and we'll correct it.
Photos and videos
Photos are used under free licenses (Creative Commons), with the credit shown on the page. Videos and their thumbnails come from the official YouTube channels of artists, agencies and broadcasters.
Cheers and your data
- A cheer shows only your message and your country. We also keep the page language and a code made from your IP address and the date. The code is used only to stop spam, and it changes every day.
- Messages are checked automatically before they appear. Ads, contact details and abuse are filtered out.
- Cheers are kept for one month. When the month's results are final, they're deleted — except messages to the Idol of the Month, which stay on the home page for one more month and are then deleted.
