ILLIT's "Magnetic" is fastest K-pop group debut to 900M Spotify streams

According to Spotify, "Magnetic", the title track of ILLIT's first mini album "SUPER REAL ME", had been played 900,351,494 times as of October 18. That is the shortest time for any K-pop group's debut song to reach that number of streams on Spotify. Released in March 2024, the song was the first K-pop debut song to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, and the fastest to do so. On October 2 it was certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry, and in August it passed 300 million cumulative streams and was certified Triple Platinum for streaming by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. That Japanese certification was the fastest ever for a song by a non-Japanese female artist.

Why it matters — ILLIT release their fifth mini album, "BREAK EVEN", on October 26. The title track is "체포하겠어".
