A2O LITE hits No. 1 on Melon in 29 hours

A2O LITE, the nine-member girl group producer Lee Soo-man launched after three years, reached No. 1 on the Melon TOP 100 with their debut single "NEON" as of 11 PM on October 14, 29 hours after its 6 PM release on October 13. That is the fastest No. 1 for a rookie group's debut song since Melon reworked the TOP 100 in August 2021. The previous record was about 77 hours (ALLDAY PROJECT, "FAMOUS"); NewJeans' "Attention" took 8 days and ILLIT's "Magnetic" about two weeks.

Why it matters — With his non-compete on record producing in Korea over, Lee teamed up again with his longtime collaborator, producer Yoo Young-jin, and launched two groups at once: the nine-member A2O LITE and the 15-member boy group A2O SOUL.
