YG's new boy and girl groups record demos through year-end

Debut
TBA — set once the title tracks are chosen
Line-up
5-member boy group · 4-member girl group (working name NEXT MONSTER)

YG Entertainment's chief producer Yang Hyun-suk gave an update on the agency's two rookie groups on its official blog, FROM YG, on October 14: a five-member boy group and a four-member girl group, working name NEXT MONSTER. Both will record demo songs one after another until the end of the year, and their debut dates will be set once their title tracks are decided. A YG ANNOUNCEMENT video at the end of the year will share more.

Why it matters — Yang called the two groups key to YG's future alongside TREASURE and BABYMONSTER. It is his first update of this kind since late April. In the same post he confirmed TREASURE return on November 2 with the single "SHOCK", and BABYMONSTER on October 23 with "DESERVE".
